Lakes Region Fall Bucket List

By Julie Petty September 28, 2017

Ok, so it may not feel like fall out there, but according to the calendar is it! That just means we get a few more days to enjoy the outdoors! While you are soaking up the last of the summer rays, I have put together your Fall Bucket List for around the Lakes Region. Try to do them all!

  1. Go to a haunted house. Right in Hill, NH is House of Haunted Hill and according to their website they are set to open Friday, October 6th at 7pm.
  2. Go apple picking. See the previous article on where to go around the Lakes Region.
  3. Make an apple pie. And for a real New England twist, add a slice of Vermont Cheddar Cheese on it!
  4. Check out a local high school Friday Night Football game. Check your local high school’s webpage for game schedule, or head over to WMUR Sports for updates on games.
  5. Check out a Pro Football game. Ok, so it’s not in the Lakes Region but it’s worth the trip.
  6. Pumpkin patch photo shoot. The epitome of all fall backdrops for photos. Then grab the perfect pumpkin and…
  7. Carve a pumpkin. If you need some inspiration, check out the Pumpkin Lady’s Webpage for some patterns.
  8. Roast your pumpkin seeds. My family likes to add our own twist. Cinnamon and sugar, season-all, or salt and pepper.
  9. Go leaf peeping. Take the big loop around the lake looking at all the decorations and beautiful foliage.
  10. Take a scenic chairlift ride. Gunstock in Gilford offers a chairlift ride where you will have spectacular views of Lake Winnipesaukee and surrounding mountain ranges.
  11.  Visit a corn maze. Check back as I will be listing all the mazes around the Lakes Region.
  12. Have a Halloween movie marathon with friends.
  13. Rake up leaves and jump in them with the kids.
  14. Rake your neighbors leaves. Take a moment to show kids the art of helping out someone else.
  15. Have a fall bonfire.
  16. Host or go to a Halloween party.
  17. Dress up with your family for Halloween.
  18. Make a list of all you are Thankful for.
  19. Make your own cornucopia. All Recipes has this authentic one you can eat, or you can make this craft with kids.
  20. Visit a fall festival. The NH Pumpkinfest is right in downtown Laconia. Check their webpage for updates and more information.

Maybe you have other traditions or you want to share some photos of your family doing one of these. Head over to Macaroni Kid Meredith Lakes-Region and share!
