Apple Picking Season!
Ok, so fall is great for more than just apples. You have pumpkin spice everything, big comfy sweaters, and beautiful foliage. However, everyone wants to know where the best apple picking is! And everyone has their opinions because where they have gone for the past decade will always top their list.
Let’s look at some of the best right here in the Lakes Region, in no particular order!
This Orchard is in it’s 26th season this year and it offers 9 varieties of PYO apples to choose from! They also have a farm stand that sells veggies, pumpkins, honey, and fruits. Another reason to love this orchard is they are dog friendly!
Stone Brook Farm, Gilford

This farm offers more than just PYO apples and blueberries, they have wagon rides, mums, a pumpkin patch, and maple products! Apple picking is from Labor Day to the end of October and the pumpkin patch is open for all of October. Enjoy the view through the farm on the hay ride with your family which are every weekend through the end of October!
Cardigan Mountain Orchard, Alexandria

This family farm offers PYO apples from Labor Day to the end of October and they have over 15 varieties of apples. They also make homemade items from jams to butter to relishes and more! They have also teamed up with local farmers, vendors, business people and residents and opened up Cardigan Country Store to offer local produce and other artisan products.
Meadow Ledge Farm, Loudon

This orchard sits just outside of Concord in Loudon and is currently open for peaches. PYO apples will be starting Labor Day weekend and they offer over 40 varieties of apples! You will enter the farm through the country store where they have local veggies, mums, gifts, fresh cider, and one of the best fresh made cider donuts! Expect a wait as there is always a line for the donuts! They also offer a wagon ride out to the orchard and music on Saturdays and Sundays during harvest!
Surowiec Farm, Sanbornton

The farm stand at Surowiec is already open and PYO apples will start late August through October. They offer a variety of apples including honey crisp! The farm stand offers their own pork, local meat, cheese, milk and their own line of canned produce. This farm sits on the side of a hill with a gorgeous view of the mountains.
